Accidents may happen in our lives. We cannot control them nor predict when they will occur. Some accidents are lessons that will make us rethink on how to value our lives and live them to the fullest.

This acutely distressing video footage from Sichuan province in southwest China captures every parent’s worst nightmare. This 2-year-old child rushes into a busy street when her guardians are not looking.

In the video, the child crosses the street while 2 white cars drive over the girl one after the other. It is almost unbearable and horrifying to see, but when the cars drive off the little girl is totally fine. It is as if someone or something protected her. Watch this unbelievable miracle for yourself!

The girl was reportedly in the care of her grandmother who was momentarily distracted when the incident occurred. Her grandmother was so terrified by the incident so dashes in to scoop her up as soon as the cars drive by. The little girl was taken to the hospital, but she was released soon after with only some minor bruising on her head.

“The surveillance video footage on site and our preliminary investigation show that when the toddler was running across the road, she was in the blind zone of the first car and the driver didn’t see her. And the following car was moving too closely behind the first one and the driver failed to see the toddler [too]. So both cars ran over her,” said Guo Wei, a police officer with Xichang Public Security Bureau. CCTV reports that there was a further investigation on site and the drivers involved were stopped.

Still, the child’s father says she was understandably pretty terrified by the incident. We definitely can not explain a miraculous event like this, but we are glad the little girl is safe and sound!
