There’s really no secret formula to staying fit and young. We all know that proper diet and exercise give us the optimum quality of life. However, it’s is easier said than done. Who could ever say no to a perfect combo of comfort food? Say ice cream and pizza!

The struggle to staying fit becomes even more real as we age. According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, less than 5% of adults participate in 30 minutes of physical activity each day.

But some people go the extra mile to break the norm! In February of 2016, Inside Edition featured 4 grannies with fitness routines and amazing bodies.

First one on the list is Wendy Ida. She is a 65-year-old grandmother who lost 75 pounds when she started working out at 43 years old. She states, “I absolutely feel better now, at 63-years-old, in a bikini than I did when I was 33!”. This granny even holds 2 Guinness World Records awards: one for being the oldest active instructor in multiple disciplines, and another for “Burpees”, a type of calisthenics exercise.

Next is Rebecca LaNasa, a 76-year-old Zumba instructor. She began teaching Zumba classes nearly 12 years ago. Rebecca earned her Advanced Certification in Pilates and teaches about 10 hours of classes per week. In the 2012-2013 pageant circuit, Rebecca was awarded as Ms. Florida Senior America. The quote in her description reads, “It’s never too late to start something new. Don’t dwell on past mistakes. Yesterday is gone, but there is tomorrow!”

Third hot granny on the list is Suzanne Goodrich. She maintains her figure by hitting the Los Angeles gym 3 times a week. Suzanne tells Inside Edition, “I have 3 grandchildren—8, 10, and 16— and they think Nanna’s hot!”

Last but not the least is Gail McGhie, “fitness and wellness enthusiast”. She trains people of all ages, with her oldest client being close to 90 years old! She even trains her granddaughter who tells Inside Edition, in awe, “This is my grandma. This is what she looks like!”

These four grannies are the #fitspiration of this generation!
